The Ever Changing World of Healthcare
27 Jul

I recently visited a Doctor’s office that for years had been independently owned and operated by a group of physicians. They were recently acquired by a very large hospital in Ohio. The changes were quite radical and it took quite a while for the staff to get acclimated with the new computer system and all of the new procedures that this hospital implemented. Of course this is to be expected when changes are made in protocol and systems that the staff had been used to and used for years prior. The same could be said with any changes that affect a job or a schedule that we are used to.

If you were to describe what the average doctor looked like, you would say someone wearing a white coat with possibly a stethoscope around their neck or an Rx pad in their pocket. There is no arguing nurses are a crucial part of the healthcare system and this week is dedicated to them.  This year National Nurses Week is May 5-12, a week to celebrate, honor and thank the special nurses in our lives.

Hospitals and doctor offices often spend the week hosting breakfasts and lunches in their nurse’s honor and gifting their employees with chachkies and trinkets like mugs, key chains, pens and tote bags.

Outpatient facilities are often a part of a large hospital or IDN. In a way, an outpatient facility is an extension of a unified health system and therefore a representation of the health system's brand and image.

Having a unified uniform program is vital to the health of an organization. However, have you ever thought about the manufacturer providing your company with uniforms?
