TBT: Disinfecting options for healthcare laundry
18 Feb

The last time you were in a hospital or a clinic, whether it be for an overnight procedure, same day procedure or just simple blood work, did you notice the curtain in your room? Was it clean? Or better yet, when was the last time it was cleaned and disinfected? How many different sets of hands have tugged and pulled on that curtain?  Have you ever thought about those little germs being transferred from curtain to curtain?

A woman, we’ll call Hilda, dials 911. When the paramedics arrive, they decide she needs to be taken to the hospital.  The neighbor helps find her driver’s license and social security card for admitting records.  Hilda isn’t able to speak any more when she arrives at the hospital.  After being admitted as a “Jane Doe”, her husband and neighbor arrive at the hospital.

The importance of nurses in the healthcare field has grown leaps and bounds in recent years. While all roles are crucial in the industry, the roles of nurses have evolved to encompass MANY aspects that in the past would either be taken care of by other team members or not thought about all.

TBT: Healthcare consumers - Does the patient experience trump costs?
21 Jan

I was recently reading through PatientExperience.com, and I came across two articles highlighting a report developed by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) on the patient experience in healthcare. According to PwC – the healthcare consumer’s “personal experience is the number one reason for choosing a doctor or hospital”. It may be intuitive that someone would not make a price decision when their health is at stake, but PwC‘s study indicates that “healthcare is the ONLY industry where patient experience trumps price”.

Most might read the title of this blog post and think, “What’s the difference?!” While some organizations might use the terms patient satisfaction and patient experience interchangeably, they do represent two completely different ideas.

TBT: Designing a scrub catalog

Last week we had the opportunity to do an on-site photo shoot at a hospital in Saint Petersburg. It’s always exciting to be on a photo shoot set, especially one like this where we are in an active environment. Doctors, nurses and ancillary staff kept passing by to take a peek, share their own stories and naturally, to talk about healthcare uniforms.

Here are a few behind the scenes shots from our on-site photo shoot:

Making the Quality Uniform Choice
04 Nov

Uniforms are a reflection of your brand and services, so garment quality is essential when creating a professional appearance. This is especially crucial in the healthcare industry where patients now operate as consumers that have endless options as to where they receive care. Uniforms are a means to help your brand stand out from the rest of the competition.

When selecting a uniform provider there are a few influential factors to take into consideration:

Outpatient facilities are often a part of a large hospital or IDN. In a way, an outpatient facility is an extension of a unified health system and therefore a representation of the health system's brand and image.

Having a unified uniform program is vital to the health of an organization. However, have you ever thought about the manufacturer providing your company with uniforms?
