You wear & wash your scrubs where?
18 May

As it seems a new super bug is born every day, the subject of wearing and laundering scrubs outside of healthcare facilities continues to be a trending discussion now more than ever. Healthcare professionals on average work a 10 to 12 hour shift, so for some the thought of having to change into street clothes on their way out of work is just inconvenient.

Celebrate National Nurses Week!

You don’t have to be a nurse to know that it is a hard career. Just observing nursing professionals in action, you know that they spend an average of 12 hours on their feet daily, deal with a range of personalities and emotions of patients and their families, and at times make life-and-death decisions for patients.

Are scrubs trending outside of healthcare facilities?
29 Apr

Why do healthcare professionals wear scrubs? Healthcare professionals wear special apparel, like scrubs or lab coats, so they are distinguished from other people and patients in a medical facility. I know, pretty obvious; however, what about those in scrubs that aren’t healthcare professionals?

Does your current supplier have a proven Plan B?
13 Apr

Recently I was preparing to travel to Florida for a VIBM (“very important” business meeting) when all of a sudden a huge snow storm hit Pennsylvania, resulting in the cancellation of all flights. Upon learning my original flight was cancelled due to the pending major Nor’easter, I normally would go into panic mode, but fortunately for me I had a Plan B – a relationship with a trusted travel agent.

The new care team: Physician assistants and nurse practitioners
08 Apr

On your next doctor visit you may see less of your physician and more of other familiar faces. Over the next decade, health officials are projecting a shortage of health care professionals, specifically physicians, brought about by health reform and an aging baby boomer generation. A 2015 study conducted for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) estimates that the U.S. will be short some 46,000 to 90,000 physicians by 2025. With the looming physician shortage, there is growing demand for physician assistants and nurse practitioners to fill the void.
