Are scrubs trending outside of healthcare facilities?

Why do healthcare professionals wear scrubs? Healthcare professionals wear special apparel, like scrubs or lab coats, so they are distinguished from other people and patients in a medical facility. I know, pretty obvious; however, what about those in scrubs that aren’t healthcare professionals?

In recent years, scrubs have been spotted on people wearing it casually to places like stores or school, even to exercise. In the past I might have thought how odd, but the choices in styles and designs of medical apparel have taken a distinct turn in fashion. Why you might ask? No doubt due to the fact that scrubs are now being worn not just by the older generation of healthcare professionals, but the younger, more fashion conscious generation. While the basics have essentially stayed intact scrubs are becoming more and more fashionable with each passing year.

Traditional scrubs are now being redefined and elevated to a new class of garment that is stylish and fashion-forward. Designed for comfort and fit and also using the most advanced fabric technology. In fact, fashion and fabric technology have specifically become major forces in the evolution of scrubs in recent years.

While I do not see scrubs replacing regular fashion staples like the wrap dress or little black dress, I think we can expect to see more and more people – healthcare professionals & average retail consumers -- rocking scrubs in their everyday life.
