Thank your favorite nurse during Nurses Week 2016!

Thank your favorite nurse during Nurses Week 2016!

There is no arguing nurses are a crucial part of the healthcare system and this week is dedicated to them.  This year National Nurses Week is May 5-12, a week to celebrate, honor and thank the special nurses in our lives.

Hospitals and doctor offices often spend the week hosting breakfasts and lunches in their nurse’s honor and gifting their employees with chachkies and trinkets like mugs, key chains, pens and tote bags.

So what can you and I do to personally thank the men and women who help the sick and injured.  I’ve outlines a few different ways to say “thank you” to your favorite nurse.

1. Write a hand written letter.
Sure, a Facebook message is definitely easier, but nothing beats a handwritten letter and for those who can’t find the right words to say, you can always purchase a nice “thank you” greeting card from your local drug store.

2. Send flowers.
Spring has sprung and so have beautiful flowers. Show your nurse you care with a bouquet of their favorite flowers, have them sent to his or her department and help brighten up the entire floor.

3. Buy a cup of coffee.
Most nurses work long, grueling hours and there’s nothing better than a little caffeine boost. If you don’t know the type of coffee the person likes, purchase them a gift card to a local coffee shop close to their work.

4. Buy a bottle of wine.
Nurses like to relax and enjoy their days off too! Now all you need to do is find out if she or he likes a bottle of red or a bottle of white.

5. Bake a treat.
Cookies, cupcakes and brownies are a sweet and personal way to show appreciation and the perfect way to end a long shift.

6.  Simply say “thank you.”
It’s as easy as that. A sincere face to face thank you can go a long way and brighten up any nurse’s day.

On behalf of the An Apple A Day team and the Fashion Seal Healthcare® brand, I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing men and women who make up the foundation of the medical community. Thank you for all that you do!

Happy Nurses Week! Comment below on how you let your favorite Nurse know how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication!
